Rotary GroveFest Returns this August 19-22

June 23, 2021 -- Downers Grove, Ill. -- After a pause due to the pandemic, the Rotary Club of Downers Grove announces the return of Rotary GroveFest later this summer as a Special Edition. The festival will be held August 19 through August 22 in the downtown area of Downers Grove.

“We are thrilled that with the lifting of COVID-related restrictions on public gatherings, we can resume our wonderful tradition of Rotary GroveFest,” said Jonathan Twitty, president of the Rotary Club of Downers Grove. “Rotary GroveFest is a chance for our community to celebrate summer and the return to normal after challenging times.” The annual festival is typically held in June.

Because this is a Special Edition of the festival, the festivities will kick-off with not only the “Carnival Preview Night” on Thursday, August 19, (featuring unlimited rides), but will also open the beer garden and entertainment areas from 5 to 11 p.m.

Rotary GroveFest’s live entertainment will feature country, rock and roll, pop and rock, retro and oldies music. The beer garden will be located adjacent to the concert venue. In addition, Main Street will be closed to traffic north to south (Burlington Avenue to Curtiss Street).

“The Rotary Club of Downers Grove is grateful for our partnership with the Village of Downers Grove, and for allowing us the opportunity to hold this popular community festival on such short notice,” said Lisa Rasin, festival committee Co-Chair. “We believe Rotary GroveFest Special Edition will be an event many will look forward to attending, and we hope everyone will save the date!”

The Rotary Club of Downers Grove has hosted the festival for more than 10 years. With the generous support of individual sponsors and the local business community, the club redistributes the funds raised in this event to support causes in and around Downers Grove, including local non-profit organizations, as well as awarding student scholarships.

Details of Rotary GroveFest Special Edition are being finalized and will be posted to our upcoming new website, RotaryGroveFest.com, and social media.
